Business Maintenance

All Iowa Corporations and LLCs Must File:

  • Articles of Incorporation
File your Articles of Incorporation or Certificate of Organization with the Iowa Secretary of State and pay the filing fee. The cost to form an Iowa corporation or Iowa LLC is $50.
  • Beneficial Ownership Information Report
Nearly all businesses formed by filing with the state of Iowa must file a federal Beneficial Ownership Information (BOI) Report with the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) following business formation. You can file online through FinCEN at no cost. Or, take advantage of our professional BOI report filing service for just $25.
  • Biennial Report
Iowa corporations and LLCs must file the Iowa Business Report every other year after incorporation. The report is due by April 1st every other year. Corporations file reports in even numbered years, while LLCs file reports in odd numbered years. The biennial report fee is $60 for both entities, and can be filed online or by mail.
